Saint-Petersburg is a huge commercial city with ports and factories, stations where Russian energy and European standards make a perfect match. It is the centre of science and technology, where the best traditions of national education are carefully preserved and being developed within schools and universities. Saint-Petersburg is located in the northwest of Russian Federation in a temperate climate zone, on the Neva-river at the east end of Gulf of Finland on the Baltic Sea. It leads to the warm humid climate with a long snow winter.

Petersburg is particularly popular with tour groups and conference planners. While room quality does vary, the hotel's public areas are large and impressive on the whole. Saint Petersburg has cold winters, with temperatures in January averaging -10 Deg C (14 Deg F); the summers are generally cool, with the temperature in July averaging 17 Deg C (63 Deg F). Although the city's harbor is frozen for three to four months of each year, icebreakers keep it open for much of the winter season.

Saint Petersburg's pier features a five-story inverted pyramid and extends a mile and a half into the bay. The multi-use complex houses The Pier Aquarium, an observation deck, retail stores and several restaurants.
